Cheese!

I'm looking into buying a new camera. I currently have a Kodak easyshare, that gets the job done, but with my trip here in the US going better than I could have expected, I want to buy a camera to take back home, especially with the prices that you can get out here.

I don't know too much about the best cameras out there and my budget isn't that high, but I need help from people who actually know a little about digital cameras at affordable prices.

I saw one Nikon camera in Best buy that looked pretty good, but again the whole technological terms confuse me....do I go for pixels, optical zoom...what?

If anyone can give me any hints or tips on what to look for, I would greatly appreciate it.

I think it all depends on what you plan to use the camera for. I like to scrapbook and I have 2 kids into sports. For me the optical zoom function was the most important, so I bought one with the highest optical zoom that I could afford.

I think Best Buy's website has a pretty good section on what to look for in a digital camera. I did a lot of researching on several sites before making my decision.

Good luck and have fun!
