Links I Like
So Jack has branched out a little further in his pursuit of squishing his boredom blues. Now that his better other half is now working, his nights are free and rather than wander the streets, he's taken to forum building.
They're all forums relating to television programs and up for grabs are FlickerFlucker, where you can get links to the latest downloads to shows like Heroes (my fave), Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and a few others.
There are also sites purely dedicated to specific shows: Dexter (my other fave), Jericho and Friday Night Lights and there's everything from download links to quotes to music played. Episode discussions and spoilers.
They're actually going pretty well even though they're still in the early stages. There are people from all over the world joining and adding their bits and pieces. One guy has even made videos in the Dexter forum and there's fanfic and all kinds of things.
It sounds geeky but I'm really enjoying it and I've had the opportunity to watch shows that haven't even been released here yet and I can't wait to see them on something larger than my clunky old monitor. Mostly I'm really proud of what Jack has achieved. I find it admirable that he takes the time and the effort to help people out with a common interest and to introduce people to new things that they wouldn't normally be able to see.
For instance, I love the show Dexter. In case you don't know what it's about, it's about a forensic scientist who specialises in blood patterns who works for Miami PD and he also happens to be a serial killer. The show is absolutely blowing me away and I'll read anything I can on the show, but a lot of sites only allow for US viewers only. I'm still going to watch it on television, it's that good, but now I don't have to wait forever to see it.
Thank you Jack for your selflessness because I know you're doing this purely because you like to and I know the work involved and I wanted you to know that while I'm not a lot of help, it's greatly appreciated.
