Editor's Note...
What makes a good blog? Is it content, humor, graphics? Who really knows?
One site allows us to distinguish good blogs from the shit and that site is Blog Explosion. They created a battle of the blogs where you had the opportunity to vote on what blogs you thought were good and what blogs you thought were shit.
But as time went on, people became immature and would bitch about their blogs being defeated. Even going as far as accusing people of cheating.
This rant has been written up as we are one blog that has been accused and I for one am pissed off at the whiney assholes who can't act adult in a contest that really doesn't go on anything but cosmetics.
See, in battle of the blogs you only have so long to get a vote in. 9 votes per battle and the blog with the most votes wins. When you vote you also receive credits, so really it is a free-for-all and you have to get your vote in quick, which means not much time to actually take a look at the blog in the battle.
Lo and behold our blog was doing well in the battles. It wasn't doing great, not even in the top 50 (so I guess that makes us sucky pseudo cheaters), but it was doing well enough that certain whiners accused us of setting up ghost accounts to acquire more votes.
Currently our site has been deactivated in Blog Explosion until an enquiry can take place and while our site is missing necessary traffic during this investigation, I for one am glad. Not only will it prove that we haven't cheated, but it will also prove to the whining assholes that their blog is shit and that is the real reason and the only reason why they lost the battle.
Yeah, you know who you are....
I just hope that more sites get looked into, sites that are actually cheating and they can leave sites like Lint alone because I can guarantee that they're out there, but if we had been one of them, the chain of events that occurred would not have been so obvious. As it stands we didn't think we had anything to hide, so we didn't hide any facts at all.

People can be so juvenile. If this site gets banned, I hope there is a complete over haul in Blog Explosion as this site doesn't cheat and there are plenty out there that do.

are you fucking kidding me?
people are whining about the battle of the blogs?! bahahaha! that's a new level of pathetic.

Yeah, that is truly pathetic. Those who are taking the contest that seriously should get a sense of themselves.

You are kidding right? RIGHT?
I thumb my nose at the whiney poor losers with the sucky blogs. Whaaaa...point and cry...they're CHeeeeaTING!
Really people. resign yourself to the fact that a QUALITY blog has beaten the snot out of you at a a GAME that garners nothing tangible. Go buy credits if you must have a 'BE bank account' full of credits.
Hey! I voted for this blog. Does that make me a 'Ghost Account'?

Um...Who cares...Fuck Blog Explosion, Fuck the accusers. My life doesn't revolve around some contest. I like the discussions we have here and I think that we have a fair and balanced way of keeping things in check. I like this board but I didn't vote for it. Blog Explosion doesn't validate us, our members and guests do. Lint is a wonderful site to be a part of because of what the contributers bring to it. I would personally like to thank all of you who support this site and hope that you would stand by us in this time of stupidity and rediculous accusations.

I suppose it's a lot easier to bleat and whinge about cheating than to accept that someone else has a better blog. I enjoy this blog for the content and I'm pretty sure that most of your readers feel the same way.

I think some people actually did set up "ghost" accounts to vote, and nothing could possibly amuse me more. I mean, really! How is it satisfying for people who do that to "win"? People are funny.
Most of the time when I vote, it's almost a toss-up, you know? Usually I can find something to like about both blogs, but have to make a choice of one over the other, and don't mean any insult AT ALL to the one I don't choose. Often it's based on that day's particular post, so the blog that gets most of my votes one day may not get them the next. Keep playing, and have fun!

At 32% win rate and #6 on the loser list, if I'm cheating, I'm doing it wrong.

I think you beat me a few times, but I believe it was fair. You also have a good blog. This whole blog battle thing is not something I take too seriously. I think it's patently unfair to compare two blogs and say one is better than the other. Each blog has it's own niche and has to be judged on how well it fills it, if it's to be judged constructively.
This battle thing is also to some extent a popularity contest. I don't have time to read every blog in existence, but if I see one of the blogs I like in a battle, I'll usually go in and vote for it. I think each blog has its own "voting coalition" which has nothing to do with cheating.
I also think with 15 votes, the decisions have become less influenced by arbitrary factors like these.
